july2026: TOMATO JELLYFISH crambione mastigophora otherwise known as the tomato jellyfish, earned its name from its round red mesoglea resembling a ripe tomato;
it’s a pretty common species, during their blooming season you can easily encounter swarms of tomato-jellyfish stranded in the shores of the Indo-Pacific region;
the crambione mastigophora is also one of the species of jellyfish which is harvested for human consumption;
