Art is cool. I love every form of it. From time to time I tend to arrange my thoughts about it(art I mean) in a somewhat cohesive set of words. That is what you can find here. There was a point in the past I had the ambition to write full on essays, but time is unfortunately finite and noone should take me seriously anyway so now this page serves more like a dump of excited ramblings.

games sáska considers his favorites on the day of 05/09/2024 in no particular order
Nothing quite like women, built like a fridge and good world building, and Dorohedoro definitely doesn't lack any of those.
This was the first longer manga I have read, and it is still one of my favorites till this day. It seems like only yesterday as my tiny friendless elementary school self is reading Dorohedoro in the classroom, then fills his tiny friendless elementary school math book with thousands of butcher lady Nikaido drawings.
The series is so very unique in basically every way possible.
It is set in a complex scifi-dark-fantasy mesh of a realm, divided into two parts: The hole, home of the lower class humans(?), and the Magic Users’ world. Both places are enviably well thought-out and full of small details, which makes you believe they could be actual places.
I won’t even try to attempt to describe the plot. It is a very intricate story full of exciting twists, ultraviolence and dark-humor.
Dorohedoro has a huge cast and yet every character is memorable and unique. I’m not just talking about their cool designs and drips (I would eat everything and everyone under my bed just to have some of their clothes), but the fact that even the less important characters feel alive by having full-fledged personalities spiced up with fun little details.
There is not one person in the story with purely good morals. You can feel equally connected to the protagonists, the alleged antagonists and everyone in between.
The artstyle is rather messy and sometimes I found it hard to tell what I was actually looking at, especially in the earlier chapters, but it undeniably matches the vibes of the world and It just looks like something that was very fun to draw.
In conclusion Dorohedoro is a rare gem of a story so go and read that instead of my dumbass reviews
Beau is afraid
In Beau is afraid we follow a man named Beau who really is afraid of everything, going on bizarre guilt trip, trying to get to his mother’s funeral.
Now I know a lot of people really hated this one, and i can see why that is. If you spend your time trying to determine what ’s real and what’s only beau’s fucked up imagination, while watching the movie, than you probably won’t have the best experience. But I think once you realise that there isn’t much in this movie that should be taken literally it becomes Ari Aster’s best work (at least in my opinion).
I really love how the events in this movie doesnt follow each other in the a logical way, as if we were in an actual dream, I also love me some easter eggs, and though I wouldnt say that without noticing the little details especially in Beau’s mom’s house the story would be very different, but it definitely adds quite a few more reasons for Beau’s unbearable amount of mommy issues. -- Not to mention If you think about it long enough this movie actually becomes pretty funny. its full of dark humor and this ridiculously unfortunate man really does go trough a lot fucked up shit in the course of three hours, which gives off the feeling as if the hole story was just a big cruel joke on him.
In conclusion this is by all means a very self-indulgent movie that doesnt care about the audience. It was made by ari aster for ari aster, and all i can say is: good for him (and also for me)
Shimeji Simulation
Shimeji Simulation is like those surreal wannabe paintings, involving a cute anime girl next to a dead body or smthg, except, that this manga is in fact unique, has actual meaning and not
just weird for the sake of weirdness.
Shijima and Majime are living in a town, that changes overnight, and where the laws of physics can be broken with no problem, an apocalypse is about to happen but no one seems to be bothered by it.
You cant really identify the thing that causes the feeling of misery inside you while reading Shimeji Simulation. So many topics are touched in this manga, still nothing radically tragical happens it's just
CGDCT while the world ends around them.
The unbearable lightness of being - Milan Kundera
~I wrote this one for my english class, thats why it's so boring. This book deserves better, I might rewrite it later.~
The unbearable lightness of being is a slice of life novel, that follows the lives of two couples, through the soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia.
The main protagonists Tomás views love and sex as two completely independent things. He is something one might call a womaniser, he has numerous affairs, with women other than his wife, Whom he also only fell in love with because she couldn’t leave his bed, do to her getting sick.
The writer often stops the narrative to observe the characters and their lives and to give his insigtful and phylosophical comments about the currently ongoing events.
But even with these long thought processes the story never feels preachy. It gives a very melancholic still heartwrming impression of life, i could really relate to and
Seeing How drastically people's perspectives on love can differ was a very eye-opening experience for me. It made me feel more comfortable with my own views on beauty and love.
