august: RED PAPER LANTERN JELLYFISH

red paper lantern jellyfish got its name after its bell which crinkles and stretches out as the jelly "swims" through the ocean resembling a real paper lantern. it is an arguably beautiful and impressive sea creature. evidently many small ocean critters think so too, because they often choose this hydrozoan as their home.
